The past year or so has made us all appreciate the great outdoors more than ever before, enjoying the opportunity to discover the beautiful country we live in. Alfresco dining has been boosted by lockdown living with many people continuing to dine outside even during the cooler months of the year.
Here in the UK we are catching onto the trend of autumnal picnics & dining, which has been a long time popular activity in the US. With our autumn months offering milder, unsettled spells with no extremes in temperature, it's perfect to embrace this time of year.

Our Favourite Autumn Activities
PYO Pumpkin
Get ready for Halloween and take a trip to your local pumpkin patch. Here you can choose from a whole array of pumpkins & gourds in all shapes, sizes & colours. A quick google search should show you where to find yours or visit www.pyo.co.uk/pumpkins/
Take a Walk
Admire the changing colours as the trees put on a magnificent spectacle. The array of red, yellow & brown leaves is breath taking. Jumping, collecting and running though them is sure to keep you warm (you're never to old!)
Collect Conkers
Great for an autumn display around the home & fending off spiders - it's said that placing conkers around your windowsills keeps spiders away, not sure how much truth is behind it but it's worth a go. Finally, why not have a fun game of good old fashioned conkers, a playground favourite for many years, be careful to mind your knuckles!
Whatever activity you decide don't forget to pack up a seasonal picnic. Include items such hot savoury pastries, warm soup, rolls & tarts. Pop into the insulated section of your hamper or cooler bag (not just for keeping things cold). Make sure you take a waterproof backed picnic blanket to fend off any soggy bottoms. Who doesn't love a flask of tea, coffee or hot chocolate to warm them up after an adventure on a bright crisp day!
